Biography
Emory Craig brings broad experience in higher education and the creative industries to his work on XR, AI, and digital ethics. He is the CEO at Digital Bodies, a consulting group and popular website for news and analysis of emerging technologies. He has worked with major universities, NGOs, the United Nations, and assisted the Organization of Economic and Co-operative Development (OECD) on developing recommendations for the use of virtual reality and artificial intelligence in education. He is currently an Innovator in Residence at Arizona State University for the ShapingEDU project on the future of higher education. Previously, he served as Director of eLearning and Interim CIO at the College of New Rochelle.
Research Interest
Emory is the author of numerous publications on XR, AI, and learning, including the 2017-2018 EDUCAUSE series: “VR and AR: Stepping into the New Frontier of Learning.†He is the co-author of the forthcoming State of XR Report by the Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN). As a futurist and writer, he explores how the convergence of XR and AI will transform how we learn and our relationships with each other, creating innovative opportunities and unanticipated social and ethical challenges. His work focuses on the personal and organizational strategies we will need to live in a world where experiences are available on-demand, embodied avatars are AI-driven, and the boundary between the real and the virtual disappear.
