About City

Osaka (Japanese: 大阪市, Hepburn: ÅŒsaka-shi, articulated [oːsakaÉ•i]; generally just 大阪, ÅŒsaka [oːsaka] (About this soundlisten)) is an assigned city in the Kansai area of Honshu in Japan. It is the capital city of Osaka Prefecture and the biggest part of the Keihanshin Metropolitan Area, the second biggest metropolitan territory in Japan and among the biggest on the planet with in excess of 20 million occupants.

Osaka was generally viewed as Japan's monetary center point. By the Kofun time frame (300–538) it had formed into a significant territorial port, and in the seventh and eighth hundreds of years, it served quickly as the magnificent capital. Osaka kept on prospering during the Edo time frame (1603–1867) and got known as a focal point of Japanese culture. Following the Meiji Restoration, Osaka significantly extended in size and experienced quick industrialization. In 1889, Osaka was formally settled as a region.

Today, Osaka is a significant money related focal point of Japan. It is home to the Osaka Securities Exchange just as the global hardware companies Panasonic and Sharp. Popular tourist spots in Osaka incorporate Osaka Castle - which assumed an essential job in the Siege of Osaka and was included in the 1980 American TV smaller than normal arrangement Shogun - and Shitennō-ji - the most seasoned Buddhist sanctuary in Japan.
